What’s this? Where am I?
What am I doing here?
You might be asking yourself these questions. You are at/on/in my blog. I’m Jon Teeter. I want to leave a semi-organized record of who I am, what I’ve done, what I’ve made, and what I’ve learned.
I bought this domain when I thought I might “get a job,” thinking I might need a portfolio of my web development work. However, I’ve had an impulse to put *something* on the Internet for a while. I have done a fair bit and learned a lot about life, philosophy, business and entrepreneurship, coding, fitness, parenting and music. These are some of the things I intend to write about. I’ve been torn between this impulse and feeling like a self important dbag for presuming anyone would care to read it. To hedge my bets and alleviate this concern, I decided that this website and any other “content” I put out into the Internet will primarily be for my kids, Ben and Lily. This way, it doesn’t matter whether or not anyone else ever reads or watches it. I’m confident enough that they will appreciate it someday. Additionally, focusing on them as the foundational raison d’etre of this website will reassure the hypothetical consumer of this material that anything I post is pure and authentic—solid life advice from a father to his children that you get to eavesdrop on.
People die, sometimes suddenly, and too often, too much of them is irrevocably lost when they’re gone. So this site will serve as an insurance policy for lessons and stories my kids are too young to understand at this age. You, dear reader, get to learn everything I have to teach immediately.
Without music, life would be a mistake.
